A shuttlecock is a high-drag projectile used in the sport of badminton. It has an open conical shape
formed by feathers or a synthetic alternative embedded into a rounded cork or rubber base. The
shuttlecock’s shape makes it aerodynamically stable. Regardless of initial orientation, it will turn to fly cock first, and remain in the cock first orientation.
Computational Fluid Dynamics plays an important role in areas of visualizing flow dynamics . In this case study application of CFD in design features of a shuttle cock is presented.
