Program Introduction

A concurrent engineering team equipped with the proper tools can shorten time to market, reduce engineering changes and create a robust quality design. Design decisions should be optimized for quality cost and delivery at the sketch phase when an engineering change costs far less as compared to hundreds or thousands of dollars months later. Engineering drawing is a structured network which accomplish the complex task of pictorially representing the idea for manufacturing. A set pattern and standard approach for drawings in established Industries help them to maintain order and establish best practices. The drawing is the common thread of the concurrent engineering team. By using these methods, the participants can base design decisions on fact rather than emotion and past practices.
